Personal Prayer

I pray not to God for the reward of victory but

instead for the capacity to put forth a glorious effort.

I ask for the vision to see the

best path and the strength to travel it.

I seek the wisdom and patience to act as an

ambassador to my cause and to do so in good manner.

I will do my best to recognize that those I am confronted

with are not my enemies, but opponents engaged in a task

that they, like myself, are devoting themselves whole-heartedly

to.  I will extend to them the respect they are due.

Battle Creed

I am a warrior.  The table is my battlefield,

my cue is my sword.

My mind is my shield for as long as I keep

myself in sorts, no foe can be victorious.

My skills are my army and as I learn

and grow, so does my strength.

∞

Doubt and fear are but soft spots in my armor. 

As I gain confidence, there can be no penetration.

∞

As honor is the true measure of any soldier, I cannot keep

my opponents in a prison of hate.  They too fight for the

kingdoms we have come to know as accomplishments.

∞

So long as I charge forward with courage and bravery,

immortality shall be mine.  My song will ring throughout

history as a tale of virtue and ferocity.
