Not long after receiving the honor of being signed to Team CSI, Charlie “Hillbilly” Bryant was forced to announce a temporary retirement from the Professional Billiards Circuit. Suffering a hernia while cutting down trees at his home just outside of Houston during the summer, the persistent competitor refused to admit defeat and continued to tour for a few months. Over time, the injury progressed to the point of intense physical pain when stretching across the 9’ tables that professional tournaments use. There was no other option than to withdraw from the team and take a leave of absence. “I will use the down time to get myself healthy and concentrate on the true gift that God gave me… teaching” says Bryant. “I will finish my book and get started on the other projects that I have pushed aside. I will also take the time to train so that one day, I can return to the Pro Tour and stage a big comeback.”
Mr. Bryant has great aspirations for the sport and his upcoming products and services are all targeted toward the improvement of the game through education and participation. Keep an eye on the horizon for this player turned entrepreneur. As he was on the table, now he will be in the industry… a force to be reckoned with.
